Creative writing is a rekindled love of mine that I am exploring more and more! It’s so valuable to be creative and to play in that creativity!! This was an exercise to the prompt - what inspires you?

To inspire always makes me first think of the breath. To breathe in, to take in, to make things a part of oneself.
What inspires me? The quiet stillness around me in nature. The trees inspire me to move with the rhythm of life, to sway with the wind, to hear what is happening and just be. The trees are growing, though they aren’t hustling. They are getting stronger when the wind blows and the snow coats them but they aren’t counting steps or hitting the gym. They stand tall, visible, supportive, beautiful and strong.
The forest is a home to so many and it just lets the creatures and the people who pass through it be who they are without trying to direct them or change them or judge them. The trees are there, providing shade, support, landmarks and even the air we breathe. They are happy, content to just BE.
What does life look like if I support, shade, guide by my presence and stop trying to run my way into productivity? If I IN-SPIRE those I encounter by holding steady in the wind, by reaching higher and observing what is around me.
Life is full of chaos and the next thing to do every minute. What does it feel like to know we will be nourished from the earth, grow, stand, resist, strengthen and support?
I have never really understood why nature inspires me so much or why my soul feels so at home when I am outdoors in a quiet peaceful place, but maybe it is just the balance and the example I need to realize that life is beautiful, possible, and inspiring even when it never goes anywhere.
